The Pakistan Cricket Board is a sporting organisation that is responsible for leading all professional cricket including Test cricket and One Day International matches played in Pakistan in and away from pakistan. It controls and organises all tours and matches schedule for Pakistan national cricket team.The history of Cricket in Pakistan predates the creation of the country in 1947. The first ever international cricket match in what is Pakistan today was held in Karachi on November 22, 1935 between Sindhi and Australian cricket teams. The match was seen by 5000 Karachites. It was introduced by the British during their colonial rule of British India, which covered the area now known as Pakistan. Despite Field hockey being the national sport of Pakistan, cricket is the most popular sport in the country. Pakistan has produced many talented cricketers who have been among the best batsmen and bowlers in international cricket.The Pakistan Cricket Board controls both all domestic cricket tournaments. Pakistan is an official member of the International Cricket Council and theAsian Cricket Council.The Pakistan Cricket Board was inaugurated on 1 May 1948 as the "Cricket Control Board of Pakistan". and was soon renamed the Board of Control for Cricket in Pakistan or B.C.C.P. The Pakistan cricket is the national cricket team of Pakistan. Represented by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the team is a full member of the International Cricket Council. The team participates in Test, ODI and Twenty20 International cricket matches. Pakistan was the 1992 World Cup champion, and also came runners-up in the 1999 world Cup. Pakistan is the current Asian Champions. Pakistan won the2009 ICC World Twenty20 and came runners-up in the 2007 T20I World cup They are the sole winners of the Asian Test Championship of 1999.
